The only absentee was Afellay, who is still recovering from surgery in August
On Friday morning, just before training, the first team players posed for the photographs that will be used by the UEFA media. All kitted out, the players first posed individually and then gathered for a squad picture. The only member of the squad that was missing was Ibrahim Afellay, who is still recovering from surgery on August 22. The picture was completed by managerTata Martino and his assistant Jorge Pautasso.
UEFA take photos like this every year for use in their media and publications. Some time shortly, the players will be posing for the official photograph for the 2013/14 season along with president Sandro Rosell
